Below is a screenshot from AIDA64 which is showing memory profiles and current memory settings. CAS Latency is wrong in the table as we see but no worries, memory is working perfectly fine on ASUS and MSI motherboards based on Z170 chipset.

HX Savage Spec1

HyperX Savage has two XMP profiles what is quite rare in DDR4 memory. Most manufacturers stick to one XMP profile and standard JEDEC settings which are about the same in all memory kits.

Memory modules are slightly taller than the PCB itself but we can still consider them as standard height. HyperX Savage modules are 34.57mm tall ( 1.36 inch ) what shouldn’t interfere with probably any available cooling solutions.

HX Savage Size

HyperX Savage DDR4-3000 memory has arrived in a standard retail package. Actually our redatcion has received single packed memory sticks but serial numbers are close to each other and used memory IC is exactly the same so it’s as good as memory kit delivered in one box.

Since I mentioned memory IC then under the heatspreaders you can find Hynix SK memory chips so about the same as in most other Kingston memory kits. It’s a good choice as it offers the best performance without any need of overclocking. It’s also popular choice among the overclockers because of great results in popular benchmarks.

Mentioned package is made of transparent plastic which is popular on the market for a long time. It takes not much space and protects memory well so it’s all we really expect from the package.

Inside we can find memory sticks, warranty info, short manual and a little sticker with HyperX logo.

HyperX Savage has black PCB and black heatsinks. All looks really good as you see on the photos. These well designed modules match many popular motherboards on the market so even modders shouldn’t have issues to use them in their special computers.

Memory modules are standard height as I already mentioned so they fit under even the largest air coolers like Scythe Ninja 4 what we can see on the below photo.

HyperX Savage looks great but for most users performance is the most important so maybe we will move to the next page of this review to see how HyperX Savage performs in various tests.
