Mushkin Redline Lumina 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory Review

Conclusion and Verdict

As you can see I was able to activate XMP with no problems. It ran perfectly fine on my AMD 3700X. It was able to reach 48000+ MB/s in read speed. Those are blazing fast speeds. If you are wondering about the write speeds, pay no attention to those. That is an outlier with the Memory Controllers on the 3700X. Anyways the most important speeds are the Read.

So, Mushkin decided to put RGB on some RAM. Well…..I absolutely love it. Not only did this RAM offer the performance I am used to seeing from Mushkin products. The RGB made the experience that much better. If I claimed to be a fan of something its RGB. So, RGB on anything is going to having me taking a closer look. If I had the option of RGB non RGB, I am going RGB most of the time. For this being the first go around with a RGB RAM module from Mushkin I was pleased with the diffuser and the way it was incorporated into the heat sink. The RGB had great color reproduction and when it was set to a wave the light flowed very well. Sometimes you may notice like a digital transition between LEDs. Definitely not on these. All 8 LEDs flow and transition colors seamlessly. I find that important especially if the RGB is coming through a diffuser. Mushkin was able to hold onto a similar look that they have had on the their recent heatsinks. As far as performance goes, any RAM with CL16 is going to get your system moving. Pair that with 3600MHz and you will have a solid performer for sure. And you can see this performance in the charts on the previous page. This RAM is the best, in terms of Latency, I have tested to date. Latency is one of the most critical measurements when looking at RAM. The lower that number the better. If a kit of memory with higher read speeds but also has higher latency, it is actually worse performing than the latter. I say that because this RAM didn’t top the charts in Read speeds (very close I might add though) but with that low of a Latency this RAM is probably performing actual work faster than benchmarks indicate.

If you are curious if a particular speed will be absolutely compatible with your setup, just contact them and their support will lead you in the right direction. You cant go wrong with this RAM. If you have been waiting for RGB RAM form Mushkin, then wait no more because its real, they exist! Now go get a set before they sell out!

They are priced very well. If you were to search for something with similar specs you right at the same price if not more. Using the same 3600MHz speed and CL16 the lowest RGB kit I was getting at the time was 200 dollars. So this kit is priced very well in my opinion.

The Mushkin Redline Lumina can be found at Amazon as well as various other e-tailers for the price around $184.99 USD.
