Conclusion and Verdict

The Patriot Viper Steel LL 16GB DDR4-4000 CL16 memory kit was listed for around $115 in the Amazon store when I was preparing the DDR4-3600 kit review. However, now I can’t find it on the list. I assume it will be back in the store soon. Either way, the price of such a high binned Samsung B-die kit is very reasonable. Most competitive brands won’t sell their Samsung-based kits so cheap. Most competitive brands didn’t decide to sell their memory kits at such tight timings.

The same as with the DDR4-3600 kit, I have only one problem. I wish it were available as a 32GB kit. With constantly rising demand for RAM capacity, 16GB is not anything special nowadays. It’s still enough for gaming but can be insufficient if we do “all at once”.

During the tests, there were no problems with the Viper Steel LL 16GB DDR4-4000 CL16 memory kit. It could run at XMP settings on ASRock, ASUS, and MSI motherboards with AMD and Intel chipsets. It confirms that the XMP profile is well programmed. Additionally, the memory kit offers high overclocking headroom, so it is extra fun for all who are into overclocking.

When it comes to value, the Patriot Viper Steel Low Latency 16GB, DDR4-4000 CL16 kit offers a little more than its sibling, the DDR4-3600. Both kits are great for gamers, fast, and it’s compatible with the most popular motherboards out there. However, the DDR4-4000 kit offers us higher guaranteed speed straight out of the box, without the hassle of manual configuration. With only a slight increase in price over the DDR4-3600 versions, many gamers will take advantage of this, and save them time when overclocking the ram.
