Silicon Power XPOWER AirCool 32GB DDR4-3200 Memory Kit Review

Overclocking

Disclaimer: Overclocking is never guaranteed so that the results may vary depending on certain conditions and various hardware configurations. I am not recommending overclocking if you do not know what you are doing. High voltages may damage hardware, and it will not be covered by warranty.

When I received the AirCool memory kit, then I wasn’t expecting so high overclocking potential. It’s because the memory has a higher density than most memory kits at a high frequency, above DDR4-4000, and it wasn’t designed to break world records. Even though it proves a high quality as we wouldn’t be able to reach DDR4-4266 so easily.

CPU-Z is confirming that used memory IC is Hynix, and the scaling is about the same as Hynix CFR used in some previous memory reviews, but then we were testing 8GB memory modules. There are some scenarios where 16GB modules will be faster because of dual-rank design, so a similar overclocking potential and an additional chance on a higher performance already sound great.

The DDR4-4266 is a maximum for our test platform. I wasn’t able to run the memory much higher. DDR4-4400 couldn’t boot, but maybe it’s a matter of memory controller in the CPU. Either way, I think that the DDR4-4266 on the 32GB memory kit is already an exceptional result.
