Today we are presenting the EVGA Z20 RGB Optical Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. This keyboard has a couple of features that really make this keyboard unique. First off, its not everyday we are getting new EVGA peripherals to test out. EVGA is more known for the Graphics cards they manufacture. We have 3 products from this new series to show you guys in the next few weeks. So be sure to follow along if you are as interested in this new series as I am. We will be showcasing the Z20, Z15 keyboards, and the X17 wireless gaming mouse.
The one we have today is the top tier Z20. This is the most expensive and the highest quality of the lot. Like I said a little earlier, this keyboard has a few unique features that really make this keyboard stand out. First off the switch type. The keyboard is mechanical but instead of your typical switch, this utilizes an optical switch. More on this type of switch later in the review! Secondly, the keyboard has a ToF sensor. This sensor will wake the keyboard up when a user comes with in range. With out even testing this feature out, I really like the idea of the keyboard going silent until I need it. This can also extend the life of the switches and LED’s. I am a person that like to put my monitors to sleep if I’m not using them. One other feature worth mentioning is the report rate. The report rate is insane. This is probably needed because the optical switches need to be extremely accurate. With that being said the 4k Hz Report rate is going to give the user more precise input. This isn’t where the features stop but are some of the ones that really stand out before we even get into testing this keyboard out.
