Genesis Krypton 770 Gaming Mouse Review

Closer Look

The Krypton 770 mouse comes in a small box, which is not much different from that of the previously reviewed Genesis mice. The box is well described in a couple of languages and has key features listed on the box’s side. Everything we may want to know is printed on the exterior.
On the front, we can see a “free gift, multitool card inside.” It’s a card that can replace many tools like small screwdrivers, a bottle opener, a paper knife, and some more.

Inside the box, besides the mouse itself, we will find a quick installation guide, a spare set of skates, and the mentioned multitool card. Everything is well-protected, and suggests that the product is high quality.

A little surprise could be that the mouse doesn’t have so popular in the last few months, hexagonal-hole design. It looks more like a standard but high-series gaming mouse.

The Krypton 770 uses a high-quality USB cable for the connection. The cable is braided but is soft enough to be comfortable to use.

The mouse has seven programmable buttons, which are just right for most gamers. For those who play MMO games, I recommend the Xenon 770, which can have more buttons programmed.

The Krypton 770 mouse uses a PixArt PMW 3360 sensor and highly durable switches. The mouse works at the DPI range from 100 to 12000. It’s more than most available gaming mice on the market. Personally, I see no point in anything above 8000, but maybe someone can use it for a specific game.

The mouse feels comfortable and moves smoothly on the Genesis Carbon Rise 500 mouse pad, which arrived with the mouse (has to be purchased separately). There were also no problems on other surfaces, but it’s good to have a high-quality gaming mouse pad for the best results.

Genesis offers many mouse pads in all sizes, up to XXL, that cover the whole desk. The Carbon Rise is one of the most eye-catching, with bright red graphics with the Genesis logo and a black background.

Below are additional photos of the Krypton 770 mouse and Carbon 500 Rise L mouse pad. There are also many RGB illumination modes. We can separately set RGB effects for the bottom bar and the Genesis logo. The LED built-in wheel changes colors depending on the used DPI profile.

I will tell you some more about the software and RGB lighting management on the next page.
