The Thor 420 RGB is a well-designed gaming keyboard that gives a wide range of functionality but doesn’t take much space on the desk.
The keyboard works well and is fully programmable, so besides various RGB modes, we can adjust all keys and create our own profiles. Genesis is giving us quite easy-to-use software, so even less advanced users should handle it without issues. Everything is described in the attached manual, so those who had no contact with a gaming keyboard before will easily set everything.
There were few issues during tests that are more related to my personal preferences than the product itself. I didn’t like how loud were working keys while typing, but it’s something hard to avoid in mechanical keyboards. I also found flat keys hard to use without looking on the keyboard now and then, so I won’t use the wrong keys or make corrections while typing. Maybe I’m just picky as this is what won’t matter for most gamers.
The Genesis Thor 420 RGB gaming keyboard costs around 70 in the Amazon DE store. It’s not cheap but below the price that other brands ask for their flat mechanical keyboards with RGB lighting. I had no chance to test many of these types of keyboards, so I can’t tell how they compare, but the quality of Genesis is pretty good, so I doubt that the competition offers anything better at this price.
