GIGABYTE XM300 Gaming Mouse/XMP300 XTREME Gaming Mouse Pad Review

A Closer Look: XM300 Gaming Mouse

The XM300 mouse is equal parts curvy and edgy in shape and is medium in size. The build quality of the plastic feels decent albeit slightly on the light side. The matte finish looks great and the rubber highlights add to the smooth yet rugged feel that this mouse offers. The shape is damn near perfect like it was custom-made for my hand. This leads me to believe that I will experience very little fatigue whilst using this mouse for epic gaming sessions.

Each side of the mouse has a textured rubber grip that is large enough for even the biggest fingers. The grips are also non-intrusive and very effective. The grips are subtle as to not protrude and feel awkward. These most certainly make a difference in overall control and handling of the XM300. The left side of the mouse has two buttons. Contrarily, the right side of the mouse has none.

The laser is the revolutionary Pixart 3988 high performance sensor for accuracy cursor control with up to an 6400 dpi which translates into some serious speed. To competitive gamers, this is a necessity for first-person shooters, MMOs and RTS gaming.

Looking at the bottom of the XM300 mouse, the first thing that I noticed was the large surface areas for each of the mouse skates. This attribute certainly helps with acceleration, precision, and control. This also means a longer life since the weight of the mouse is spread further out across all of the skates. Bravo for that design!  The USB cable is of adequate length while the USB connector is gold-plated. Unfortunately, the cable is not braided.

Now that we have taken a closer look at the XM300, we will take a look at XMP300 Gaming Mouse Pad!

A Closer Look: XMP300 Gaming Mouse Pad

The XMP300 Gaming Mouse Pad is available in three sizes and the version we have today is the Large. Measuring 350mm x 250mm square, this is a medium-sized mouse pad. The top side of the pad has a fabric texture and is really smooth across.

Other than the GIGABYTE logo and text at the top left, this pad is completely black on top and looks great on the desk. The orange stitching around the edge is a welcome addition as the surface will not fray as easily as it would without. The quality of the stitching is superb to say the least. The bottom side is black and has a rubber non-slip texture to help keep the pad in place, no matter what surface it sets on.

Now that we have gazed upon this gaming peripheral goodness, let us install the supporting software and take everything for a test drive!
