ASRock B550 Extreme4 Motherboard Review

Performance – part 2

Storage performance

M.2 SSD performance has been tested using recently reviewed Silicon Power US70 1TB SSD. Since it’s a PCIe 4.0 SSD, then we were expecting high bandwidth. Our results are even higher than that on the B550 PG Velocita, reaching up to 5627MB/s read!

Worth to mention is also Q1T1 random read result, which is one of the highest we’ve seen and also higher than on previously reviewed B550 motherboards.

USB performance

USB 3.2 performance has been tested using Crucial X8 2TB SSD, which will be reviewed soon on our website. This is also the highest result we’ve made on a B550 motherboard with up to 1097MB/s. This is a fantastic result for a USB port.

Network performance

Local network performance has been tested using the ASRock X299 Creator motherboard with the 10G LAN controller as a data server and Netgear XS505M 10G switch. At the same time, other devices were connected to the network to simulate a typical daily workload. The B550 Extreme4 was using a 2.5G LAN port.

Our results are showing up to about 2Gbps bandwidth during a typical scenario. At the same time, the latency is low, and the connection is fully stable. It’s a perfect environment for online gaming.

Let’s move to some 3D benchmarks and games.
