ASRock B760 PRO RS Motherboard Review

The Box and Packaging

The box and packaging is fairly plain. Inside the box, you get the usual user’s manual, a pair of SATA cables, some M.2 screws for your SSDs and that’s it!

The ASRock B760 PRO RS Motherboard

The ASRock B760 PRO RS is a full size ATX motherboard and comes in a black/white/silver PCB design. It features the usual heat sinks to cool the chipset, VRMs/Mosfets and the M.2 SSD. So nothing out of the ordinary. However, on the reverse of the board, you’ll find a special eDP connector for ASRock’s internal LCD panel, which you can purchase separately.

For expansion, you get 1 x PCIE 5.0 x16 slots with + Surface-Mount Tech, -1 x PCIe 4.0 x16 Slot (PCIE3), 1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 Slot (PCIE4), 1 x PCIe 3.0 x1 Slot (PCIE2) and 1 x M.2 Socket (Key E) for optional WiFi 6.

The motherboard comes with 4 x DIMM slots with Protection Circuit, and supports speeds of up to DDR5-7200 (OC). Please take note: The DDR5 memory slot is NOT compatible with DDR4 ram.

One thing I noticed with the heatsink covering the /IO hood … It’s not fully covered and there’s a sharp aluminium strip which you could cut yourself with. So be careful when you mount this motherboard in to your chassis (see the 2nd picture bottow row).

A Closer Look

On the top left hand corner of the board, you’ll find 2 x 8-pin PCIE power connectors. These needs to be connected to power the board.

Connectivity is provided by the Dragon 2.5G LAN, but no WiFi. If you wanted WiFi you’ll need to get the optional M.2 Key-E addon WiFi module.

For storage, you get a total of 4 x SATA ports, 2 x Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4x4) slots, and 1 x M.2 Key-E slot for the optional WiFi.

The onboard audio is handled by the Realtek 7.1 HD (Realtek ALC897 Audio Codec) Nahimic audio, which is more than adequate for today’s applications and games.

The ASRock B760 PRO RS features onboard RGB lighting on the bottom right side of the board, but you can also add more RGB. You’ll find a total of 4 headers for additional RGB, these include 1 x 3-pin ARGB (5V) and 1 x 4-pin RGB (12V) headers located near the top right side of the motherboard, and the same near the bottom right side of the board.

And finally for USB connectivity, you get 2 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (1 Rear, 1 Front), 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A (Rear), 6 x USB 3.2 Gen1 (4 Rear, 2 Front), 4 x USB 2.0 (2 Rear, 2 Front). All USB ports support ESD Protection.

The rear I/O panel include the 1 x HDMI Port, 1 x DisplayPort 1.4, 2 x Antenna Mounting Points, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A Port (10 Gb/s), 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C Port (10 Gb/s), 4 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Ports, 2 x USB 2.0 Ports, 1 x Dragon 2.5G LAN port,  and HD Audio Jacks for Line in / Front Speaker / Microphone.
