ASRock Fatal1ty X370 Gaming-ITX/ac Motherboard Review

Overclocking

Disclaimer: Overclocking is never guaranteed, so the results may vary depending on certain conditions and various hardware configurations. I am not recommending overclocking if you do not know what are you doing. High voltages may damage hardware and it will not be covered by warranty.

I wish to show better results but we were not so lucky and our Ryzen 3 2200G is not overclocking good. For anything above 4GHz it requires ~1.43V+. We were able to stabilize it at 4040MHz and 1.45V. Motherboard had no problems to handle this voltage even though it’s so small.

Much better results we’ve achieved in memory overclocking. Comparing to every other X370 motherboard which I had a chance to test, ASRock X370 Gaming ITX is simply amazing. Going back to what I said two pages ago, many motherboards from other brands have issues at DDR4-3200 or higher frequency. We’ve tested couple of memory kits and there were no issues at XMP settings on DDR4-3200, DDR4-3466 and DDR4-3733 kits! Below is result at DDR4-3866 what was maximum for our setup. This frequency wasn’t fully stable but it’s still impressive. One step lower is possible to stabilize our test memory kit.

Now something that some users consider as impossible – 32GB memory kits at DDR4-3466 and 1.35V! No issues at all for the X370 Gaming ITX. Also one step lower so in this case at DDR4-3333 we were able to stabilize this memory kit.

As additional test, we were also able to stabilize 32GB memory kit at DDR4-3200 16-16-16 and 1.20V!

Below are couple of tests with APU at 3.95GHz and memory at DDR4-3733. Operating system works on Patriot Scorch 256GB PCIE/M.2 SSD.

After overclocking, total result went up from about 2700 to nearly 4100. It’s a huge difference, especially in Productivity stage.

Also VRMark shows improvements but in this case it’s nothing spectacular. 55 points what translates to a bit over 1FPS more. We were expecting more but I guess that GPU is simply too slow to show anything better, regardless what we do with the CPU and RAM. On the other hand if we take a look at the Futuremark ranking then this score would give us #1 on the Ryzen 2200G!

ASRock X370 Gaming ITX/ac performs well in all our tests. It’s just another ASRock motherboard which is worth our recommendation to gamers and enthusiasts.
