ASRock Phantom Gaming B650E PG-ITX WiFi Motherboard Review

Overclocking

Disclaimer: Overclocking is never guaranteed, so the results may vary depending on certain conditions and hardware configurations. I am not recommending overclocking if you do not know what you are doing. High voltages may damage hardware, and the warranty will not cover it.

In our tests, has been used Ryzen 5 7600 processor, which is not very demanding, but the way it is overclocking is similar to other processors from the latest AMD series. The CPU could be overclocked to 5.3GHz without problems, and at this frequency, it was stable. Playing with PBO, we could make it work at up to 5.4GHz, but it’s much more work for a minimal performance gain.

The way we overclock everything, available options are similar to X670E ATX motherboards like Taichi. Considering the strong power design, we can expect that CPUs with more cores will also overclock well if we provide good cooling.

Memory frequency is as high as that declared by ASRock, so DDR5-6200 is guaranteed to run on nearly every processor, DDR5-6400 works but may cause problems on some configurations, and DDR5-6600 is possible, but it will be hard to find a perfect memory controller for this frequency.

New platforms are not gaining much from overclocking, but if we wish, then ASRock B650E PG-ITX is fully capable of pushing your new AMD processor above its standard speed and shouldn’t be a limiting factor regardless of which CPU will be in use.
