ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming X Motherboard Review

Thanks to ASRock … Today we’ll be taking a quick look at the ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming X Motherboard. This motherboard features the latest AMD chipset X570 suitable for all AMD Ryzen processors on the AM4 socket. Its launch coincide with AMD’s recent announcement and launch of their latest 3rd generation Ryzen 3000 series desktop processor.

The X570 Phantom Gaming X is ASRock’s flagship motherboard in their Phantom Gaming Lineup based on the X570 chipset. It’s absolutely packed with some great features, which includes …

The new PCIe 4.0 standard. There’s 3 PCIe 4.0 x16, 2 PCIe 4.0 x1 slots. It also features the latest WiFi standard in the form of Intel® Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax (2.4Gbps) + BT 5.0, as well as the Phantom Gaming 2.5 Gigabit LAN and Intel® Gigabit LAN for connectivity.

It can support memory speeds of up to DDR4-4666+ (OC), as well Nvidia Quad SLI and AMD’s 3-Way CrossfireX for multi-GPU configuration. There’s also the 7.1 CH HD Audio (Realtek ALC1220 Audio Codec) supporting Creative Sound Blaster Cinema 5, as well as of course, the ASRock Polychrome RGB.

I would like to thank ASRock for providing the review sample. This is a snippet from what ASRock has to say about themselves on their website:

ASRock Inc. is established in 2002, specialized in the field of motherboards. ASRock strives to build up its own brand. With the 3C design concept, “Creativity, Consideration, Cost-effectiveness”, the company explores the limit of motherboards manufacturing while paying attention on the eco issue at the same time, developing products with the consideration of eco-friendly concept.

ASRock has been growing fast and become world third largest motherboard brand with headquarter in Taipei, Taiwan and branches in Europe and the USA. The young and vibrant company targets from mainstream to enthusiast MB segments for different kinds of users, owning reputation around the world market with its reliability and proficiency.

There’s no doubt that AMD have been making a LOT of headlines lately. The launch of their 3rd generation Ryzen processors has been a massive success and well received among gamers and enthusiasts alike. It’s the world’s first CPU that uses the 7nm FinFET process. Something that Intel is surprisingly lagging behind, as of now they’ve only started production on 10nm processors. It’s not a huge deal to the end user, but its definitely bragging rights to be the first to produce a 7nm desktop processor.

We’ll be paring the ASRock’s X570 Phantom Gaming X motherboard with the AMD’s latest Ryzen 7 3700X processor featuring 8 cores/16 threads, and a massive 32MB of L3 cache. With this combination, I’m expecting some pretty good results in all of our benchmarks. OK, let’s get straight in to the review and start by taking a look at the specifications and features of this motherboard.

You can buy the X570 Taichi version, the ASRock X570 Taichi Motherboard from various online retailers including Amazon for around USD $320 – https://amzn.to/2l57c25
