ASRock X570S PG Riptide Motherboard Review

The Box and Packaging

The box and packaging is what you would expect from ASRock. It comes with a user’s manual,  a PG Riptide post card, an I/O shield, a pair of SATA cables, 3 sets of M.2 screws, along with a drivers disc, as well as the graphics card holder.

The ASRock X570S PG Riptide Motherboard

The X570S PG Riptide comes in usual all-matte black finish. You’ll find the familiar PCIE steel slot for your graphic card, and there’s one full cover M.2 Armor heat shield for the Hyper M.2 slot (PCIe Gen4 x4). The other M.2 slot (PCIe Gen3) and M.2 Wifi slots are uncovered.

A Closer Look

There’s no on/off or reset buttons on the motherboard, however you will find 2 clear CMOS buttons, one on the I/O panel and the other on the motherboard itself.  There’s no diagnotic LEDs, but ASRock did include their Post Status Checker, which is easy troubleshooting LED that shows the CPU / DRAM / VGA / BOOT operation every time you start up the system.

On closer inspection, you’ll find 1 x 8-pin and 1 x 4-pin power connectors for the motherboard. And surprisingly, like the B550 PG Riptide, the motherboard comes with a total of 4 pin headers for RGB, yes 4! … 2 ARGB headers (5V) and 2 standard RGB headers (12V). Perfect for gamers who love RGB!

There’s loads of connectors on the motherboard, these include … HDMI, PS/2 keyboard and mouse, 3 x USB 3.2 Gen2 (Front Type-C, Rear Type-A+C), 8 x USB 3.2 Gen1 (4 Front, 4 Rear), 6 USB 2.0 (4 Front, 2 Rear), and the Killer E3100X 2.5GB LAN, as well as an array of audio connectors.
