ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero Motherboard Review

Test Setup

For our tests, we will be using a test rig which is comprised of the ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero motherboard, along with an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X @ default clock speed of 4.7GHz (with Turbo Boost of up to 5.6GHz), as well as 32GB of Patriot Gaming Viper Venom RGB DDR5-6200 in single channel mode!

All tests were conducted at turbo clock speeds at a resolution of 1920×1080. High or Ultra settings enabled.

CPU-Z Info

During our tests, we used a pair of Patriot Viper Gaming Venom RGB DDR5-6200 (2 x 16GB kit). Although they are fully XMP/EXPO certified, I was NOT able to boot the system up at the specified speeds. Instead I was ONLY able to boot them up in single channel mode! Reddit posts with similar problems.

Load Temps

Using the the Cooler Master MasterLiquid PL240 Flux  AIO,  I was surprised to see the a full load temperature of between 47-58 degrees Celsius, which is pretty low considering the TDP of the Ryzen 9 7900X is a whopping 170W! However, haveing said that for some reason my cooling fans on the radiator was spinning at fairly high at 5,314 rpm.
