BIOSTAR Racing X570GTA Motherboard Review

Verdict and Conclusion

So in conclusion, the BIOSTAR Racing X570GTA motherboard offers pretty decent performance for the price. If you’re on a tight budget, and don’t really care about all those fancy extras you’ll get on more expensive motherboards … then the BIOSTAR Racing X570GTA will do just fine.

As far as performance is concerned, we got some pretty good scores in all of our benchmarks, including a Cinebench score of 2009, and a PCMark 10 score of  6,927. For Port Royal, we got a score of 6,497 and a DLSS score of 44.08 fps. For 3DMark Timespy and Firestrike, we got scores of 11,081 and 22,125 respectively.

For expansion, the BIOSTAR Racing X570GTA comes with only 1 x PCIE 4.0 x16 slots (with Iron slot protection), but you do get the usual 1 x PCIE 3.0 x16 Slot: Supports x4 mode, and 2 x PCIE 3.0 x1 slots. You’ll also find 6 x SATA ports, 1 x M.2 slots for SSDs (with heatspreader), as well as pin headers for 5v and 12v RGB LEDs. However, there’s no diagnostic LEDs or any buttons for clear CMOS, reset and power on/off.  And for I/O, you’ll find a PS/2 connector for keyboard & mouse, 4 x USB 3.1 Gen1, 2 x standard USB 2.0 Port, 1 x Gigabit LAN, 1 x HDMI Port, 1x VGA Port, and an array of audio connectors. But there’s no USB Type-C connector, which I find quite odd these days.

A couple of things I didn’t like about the X570GTA. Firstly, the cooling fan and heatsink for the X570 chipset is pretty bare-looking and ugly to say the least. They could have come up with a better design or a half-decent looking heatsink + fan. And the other thing I have to mention is … there’s only 1 x M.2 slot (PCIE 4.0), which really limits your storage options … I suppose you can fall back to SATA instead.

I couldn’t find the BIOSTAR Racing X570GTA motherboard on Amazon or any other online retailers, but you can expect to pay somewhere between USD $125-140.

Pros:

  • Cheapest X570 on the market (approx. USD $125-140)
  • Supports all AMD Ryzen 3rd and 2nd Gen processors
  • AMD X570 chipset
  • Decent performance
  • Support PCIE 4.0

Cons:

  • Lack USB Type-C ports
  • Only 1 x M.2 slot
  • No support for multi-GPU

Final Words:

All said and done, the BIOSTAR Racing X570GTA motherboard is really designed for the budget user. It’s aimed at the lower-end market, and therefore lacks some of the fancy features you’ll find on more expensive motherboards. If you’re not too bothered about that … then it does offer decent performance and supports PCIE 4.0 Gen4x4, that’s only if you use a 3rd Gen Ryzen processor.

We couldn’t find the BIOSTAR Racing X570GTA Motherboard for sale on Amazon, so I would suggest asking your local retailer. I’m estimating the price to be around USD $135-140. In the meantime, you can check out our Amazon shop for the latest prices on X570 motherboards.

Update: You can check out the latest prices at Alibaba.
