Colorful CVN B760M FROZEN WIFI D5 V20 Motherboard Review

Performance – Part 1

All tests were performed on the Colorful CVN B760M Frozen V20 D5 motherboard, i5-13600 processor, Nvidia RTX4070 FE 12GB graphics card, 32GB Kingston Renegade DDR5-7200@6400 memory kit, and Kingston Renegade 2TB PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD on which was installed Windows 11 Pro x64 OS with the latest updates. In tests were also used additional memory kits and storage devices. Everything else will be mentioned during the tests.

 

Memory performance

The motherboard supports RAM up to DDR5-6400, but of course, not every capacity will work so fast. We can expect that 2x24GB or 2x32GB memory kits will still reach 6400MT/s, but the problem can be with four memory modules or 48GB memory modules.

Above is a screenshot from the AIDA64 benchmark, showing the typical performance with RAM set at DDR5-6400. This was our setting for all benchmarks. It’s possible to tighten the timings some more so we can go below 60ns latency and gain 5-10GB/s bandwidth, but most users won’t do that.

 

Processor performance and mixed load tests

The processor performed well in our benchmarks. There were no problems with performance or stability.

In the Blender and Cinebench series benchmarks, results are as high as expected, considering the used CPU. The motherboard had no problems during the extended high load.

Our Cinebench R23 result is about as high as that on previously reviewed ASRock motherboards.

 

 

PCMark 10

PCMark results are as high as expected and are comparable to what we could achieve on ASUS, MSI, or Gigabyte motherboards.

PCMark results are essential as they show how all components work with each other in a mixed-load environment. It can be translated into regular daily work, so what we all do and expect good results. The B760M Frozen performs great, and this is all we need.
