CM Storm Pulse-R Aluminum Gaming Headset Review

Closer Look

Let us first take a closer look at the packaging of the Pulse-R gaming headset.

So the Pulse-R headset is packed in a box with around that a cardboard wrapping with a picture, specifications, features and other information. You can see the headset and some key features on the front.

Then on the backside you can see another set of features indicated on the headset itself in English and typed beneath it in other languages.

This is the box I mentioned above; it is just cardboard and it looks pretty cool. The headset, mic and cable are all packed neatly in here.

Here you can see the headset itself as well as the microphone. The cable is underneath the plastic. But now enough of the packaging and let us take a look at the good stuff.

This is the Pulse-R gaming headset and you may be thinking “Were is the cable?” or “Is it wireless?”; no the cable is removable for transport or to store the headset. You can also see the big cushioned ear cups and headband for noise cancellation and maximum comfort when using the headset.

In this picture you can see the aluminum plates and a closer look and the the ear cups.

This is the in-line remote with volume slider and mic mute switch + if you also connect the USB, you will have light on the headset and the remote like you can see here. I am not really a fan of remotes like this, they have some weight and tend to pull the cable down all the time. My pc stands on the ground and the 3.5″ audio and mic jacks plugged into my pc, and the remote hangs a bit in my way and pulls the cable down. It is not only on this headset, actually I have problems with all headset with a remote like this. I do like the idea though.

Here we get a closer look at the cable. There are 3.5mm audio and mic jacks, for audio out and microphone in respectively, a USB plug for the lighting effects, and the last connector is to connect to the headset itself. The only thing I dislike is there are no symbols on the jacks, only a green and pink color, which could be confusing for some.

Here we get a closer look at the cushioned ear cup. They are really soft and sit comfortably on my head. Another small thing that I find cool is that you can see “CM STORM” written inside the ear cup.
