Sennheiser MOMENTUM On-Ear Wireless Headphones Review

Wrap Up

Momentum On-Ear Wireless

As a personal preference I don’t prefer on-ear headphones. No matter how comfortable the Momentum On-Ear Wireless sits on my ears, I just don’t like my ears being squashed. Having said that, I did enjoy my time reviewing the Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Wireless. They give the freedom of movement without a tangle of wires, and the rich sounds from my music on my daily commute to work.

I would have preferred that the ear cups were made with a smoother, softer leather, much like the Momentum 2.0 Over-Ears, as my ears did sweat a little in the heat and humidity of Hong Kong. With the leather ear cups being removable, lets hope Sennheiser release smoother leather ear cups as accessories.

Sound-wise, in comparison with its smaller and larger brother, the Momentum On-Ear Wireless fell slightly short. To accommodate having so many wireless functions, designing it as portable as possible, and keeping the price down, Senneheiser did have to do a little compromise here and there. That side, the sound is still very good, but audiophiles will quickly turn their heads away.

Verdict & Conclusion

With an attractive price, the Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Wireless really ticks a lot of boxes. With its wireless capabilities, inbuilt call functions and Sennheiser Momentum sounds, the MSRP of HK$3,199 is appealing, especially all the extras you get for a few hundred dollars more over its smaller brother, the Momentum In-Ears.

In direct comparisons, even though a pair of UE 4000 is half the price of a pair of Momentum On-Ear Wireless, the price truly reflects the sound quality you get. Even a pair of Beats Studio Wireless thats priced at twice the price, the Momentum On-Ear Wireless’ sounds give you an instant advantage.

If you’re looking for a pair of portable headphones that has a stylish design and you value the quality of your music with a rich sound, wireless and handsfree capabilities, you’re not going to find a better pair of headphones for price range of HK$2,900-3,200 (USD $370-400).
