SteelSeries Siberia 350 Gaming Headset Review

Sound Quality

Siberia 350

SteelSeries gaming headsets are known for clear the sound they produce, and the Siberia 350 does not fail to impress in this department. Both the treble and mid-tones are crisp and accurate, providing you with pin-sharp accuracy of sound. The bass is rounded and packs a punch, without smothering the rest of the sounds. If there’s one aspect of the sound that is slightly weaker in the Siberia 350 is its sub-bass, which is more muted and didn’t provide enough ambience to my liking. But thats just straight out of the box.

With fine tuning within the Engine 3 software, a little increase to the sub-bass improved the sound no ends.

Beware, this headset is very loud. Really did I find I need to increase the volume more than half way along the volume knob in Engine 3, the ear cups, with the diaphragms positioned perpendicular to your ear hole, just capture all the sounds for you ears so even the smallest sounds are picked up. Increasing the volume to maximum and not only do you risk damaging the headset, but most definitely your ear drums.

The 7.1 sounds are perfect for my needs when I tested the Siberia 350 playing Overwatch; I could detect the footsteps around me accurately even to know which direction they came from. Plugging the Siberia 350 into my PS4 to play Battlefront: Star Wars was just as pleasant as I heard blaster shots shoot over my head as I hid inside a trench.

Sound-wise, this is definitely a gaming headset first and foremost, and not particularly for general music. I found that the Siberia 350 could not cope too well with the complexities of a human voice, with treble leaking over the mid-tones.
