Tronsmart Apollo Q10 Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Headset Review

Conclusion and Verdict

Everything we buy, as consumers, is initially judged on the price. That’s the way is should be. If you pay more, you except more, pay less and you can expect less. I am not one to be brand loyal. I don’t see the benefit of paying more just because of a brand name. I just want to get worth while quality for what I paid for. With that being said we have a 60 dollar headset in front of us. I expect better than average audio quality and something better than I can get off of the shelf at the local shopping center. So after extensive testing what did I think about this headset? Well I am glad you asked. For the price, you are getting more for what you are paying for in my opinion. The battery life is amazing and that feature alone make this headset worth the price. I tried to keep the volume around 50% to accurately test Tronsmarts claim of 100 hours. At this volume the sound is great and plenty loud enough. I did make several calls and tested a lot of the other functions as well. Now I didn’t get to 100 hour mark but I did get 85 hours then 88, respectively, on the second go around. Keep in mind using the headset for calls and activating the ANC function will effect overall battery usage. Even at that, 80+ plus hours! I am impressed.

The portability and comfort is very important for a headset. These nailed both of those aspects. They fold up easily and come with a handy carrying bag to protect the headset. The headband has height, swivel, and tilt adjustments. This allows the earcup to form a perfect fit any shape of head. The headband also has a foam pad on the top for extra comfort.

Another cool highlight is the ANC function that allows the user to switch between different types of noise cancelling technologies. When active the ANC produces a sound wave that helps cancel out the background noise. This noise is almost unrecognizable to us but work wonders drowning out the back ground noise. A microphone will actually monitor the background noise and adjust the ANC accordingly. You will notice a slight audio difference when switching back and forth. The audio still sounds great. You will come across some ANC that degrades the audio and its not worth using. But that isn’t the case here. The ambient sound mode is a cool feature that allows for the background noise to freely pass through as if you weren’t wearing a headset at all. This is extremely handy if you find yourself in the situation where you want to hear everything around while not missing out you tunes. I didn’t notice any change in the audio quality at all. The audio quality stayed exactly the same.

The call quality was as good as you could ask for. This headset has plenty of microphone pickups and produces a quality that will garner no complaints from the other end.
