Tt eSPORTS CRONOS Headset Review

A Closer Look

The CRONOS is fairly lightweight for it’s size. This is the largest headset I’ve owned and the size adds to the quality feel of the headset. The quality of the individual componets is evident here. The ear cups are on the large side and fit very well. This is an area I usually have issues with, as I have numerous ear piercings that can make it a pain, literally, to wear headsets for any more than an hour or so. That hasn’t been my experience with the CRONOS headset. These things are comfortable. The speakers can rotate 90 degrees, allowing the headset to lay flat for storage.

The PC cable has two 3.5mm plugs and one USB plug that powers the red accent lighting. The opposite end appears to be a proprietary mini USB-style connector, very similar to what might be found on a KODAK brand digital camera cable.

The inline volume and mic controls are a bit bulkier than what I’m used to, but it doesn’t affect anything other than looks. I’ll note here that the volume control has a very firm, solid feel, which should help prevent accidental volume adjustments.

Above we see the red LED accent lighting under full ambient lighting. The LEDs put off a respectable glow even in a fully lit room. I’m a fan of accent lighting so this headset is right at home next to my other glowing accessories. The lighting on the end of the mic boom is a nice touch that finishes off the looks.

The CRONOS allows up to 25.4mm (1in.) of adjustment for the perfect fit. I adjusted it almost halfway out and it fits perfect. I wear a medium sized fitted hat, so Tt eSPORTS definitely got the sizing right. That being said, this headset should fit just about anyone comfortably.

Performance

The sound quality of the CRONOS is top notch for a PC headset. Sound clarity is one of the aspects Tt eSPORTS boasts about on this headset. The 40mm neodymium drivers produce a very clear sound. The lower end of the register isn’t as bass-y as some headsets I’ve used though. The trade off here is the clarity.

The mic sounds great on PC. The microphone’s sound is well balanced and came through clear when recording review notes and voice chatting over the internet.  Using the headset on a phone was a bit impractical for me, as I don’t usually carry any sort of headset or ear buds with me. I did test it out for the benefit of you, the reader though, and I can say the CRONOS sounded great to the other parties I spoke to. No one realized I was even talking through a headset until I mentioned it after inquiring about sound quality.

This nearly finishes up our review. Stick around and I’ll sum it all up and go over the more prominent details when I give a final verdict in the conclusion.
