Lexar JumpDrive S25 128GB and S45 64GB Flash Drives Review

Conclusion and Verdict

Both flash drives so Lexar JumpDrive S25 and S45 are performing well. Both are actually showing similar performance so regardless on what design you decide, you can count on the same and you won’t be disappointed. Performance in some tests was below declared but as we know it all depends from used test files. At the end we’ve seen declared read bandwidth of 150MB/s and write bandwidth was even double of what we were expecting with maximum of 118MB/s. That’s a great result and for sure counts if we are moving a lot of large files.

I won’t hide that I like JumpDrive S45 more just because it’s smaller and its connector is made of metal while in S25 it has plastic finish what is more fragile. It doesn’t affect performance but as I mentioned earlier is easier to damage by users who have problems in installing USB devices.

Both flash drives are also inexpensive. 128GB version of JumpDrive S25 costs about $40 while 64GB version of JumpDrive S45 costs about $24. If you check some online stores then you can find them even cheaper.

Lexar flash drives are covered by three year warranty what is more than enough for this type of storage. We are also receiving encrypting software which is already installed on the flash drives. EncryptStick Lite is free addition to all Lexar flash drives and also other products. EncryptStick Lite was described in previous reviews of Lexar products so you can take a look at earlier reviews or Lexar website if you are interested how it works.

Final words:

Lexar JumpDrive S25 and S45 flash drives are clearly worth to recommend. Both are fast, well designed and inexpensive. Both are also available in high capacities, have encryption software and are covered by tree year warranty. There is not much left that we wish to see in a storage device like this.
