Patriot P400 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD Review

Conclusion and Verdict

Patriot P400 is a very interesting SSD. It’s not the fastest SSD, but it performs excellently where it’s the most important, so in random operations that affect our daily work the most. Even though we haven’t heard much about the P400 as its existence was dimmed by the top-performing SSD series, then it’s clearly worth the recommendation. If you aren’t after the highest sequential bandwidth but still wish to have a fast PCIe 4.0 SSD, then the P400 is a good choice.

The only problem which I see right now is the price. The Patriot P400 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD costs around $240 in Amazon or some other online stores. About as much we have to pay for some competitive SSDs that are as fast or faster. I assume it’s a matter of a new product and too high prices for the first deliveries. Once it is adjusted, then the P400 will be a highly competitive option.

Patriot P400 is covered by a 3-year warranty. It’s not the longest warranty, but most users will replace their SSD in about this period.

Pros:

  • High performance, especially in random operations
  • Easy to install and configure
  • 3-year warranty
  • PCIE Gen 4×4

Cons:

  • High temperatures during work, may throttle
  • Higher than expected price in most stores

Final words:

The Patriot Memory P400 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD performs much better than we expected, and delivers excellent results in the most demanding of tasks. Whether you are a gamer or a content creator, you will be satisfied with its speed for sure.
