Interestingly, AIDA64 suggests that inside the Supersonic Rage Pro, we will find something similar to a SATA III SSD with SiliconMotion 3282 controller. Considering the performance, it more than possible.

The Supersonic Rage Pro works well on all our test motherboards and laptops. Of course, to achieve the best results, you will need a USB 3.2 Gen1 or a faster controller, but every modern motherboard already has one.

Package and its Contents

The Supersonic Rage Pro arrived in a retail package with cardboard and blister protection for the flash drive. The package is typical for this kind of product but protects it well and gives all the info we need to know. The tested flash drive has 512GB capacity, read bandwidth is up to 420MB/s with random 4K write at about 8000 IOPS. These specifications are exceptional for any USB drive, especially such small as the Supersonic Rage Pro.

The flash drive works the best on modern USB controllers in the 3.2 Gen 1 or Gen 2 version. It’s also compatible back with every USB standard but will work slower. As you can see

The most interesting is that inside we can find specifications of a bit slower SATAIII SSD based on the SiliconMotion 3282 controller. This is something that wasn’t possible not so long time ago. Sequential and random operations are much faster than on a regular flash drive, so that the Supersonic Rage Pro can be used for larger data backups or as an additional drive for our gaming console. Since it’s small and light, we can use it much more easily than a standard USB HDD or SSD.

The flash drive looks like a regular thumb drive. It’s small has a plastic cap and aluminum enclosure. It doesn’t get hot and is easy to carry, so there is nothing unusual in the design.

Now it’s time for some performance tests. Let’s move to the next page.
