One quick look at the CrystalDiskInfo to check S.M.A.R.T. and the overall condition of our drive. Everything seems perfect.

The drive’s temperature is under 50°C during work what seems just right. There are no overheating problems or performance drops during work. Everything works fine so that we can continue.

Package and its Contents

The A55 M.2 SSD arrived in a retail packaging, which is a transparent blister. It protects the product thoroughly and is suitable for retail stores. Through the package, we can see general specifications of the drive, support information, and some other, less important things for end-users.

Once we open the package, we have access to the user’s manual. It’s everything we may need for installation.

The drive is in M.2 2280 standard, which is the most popular M.2 size. Most laptops and desktops nowadays support this size. However, not every M.2 socket supports both SATA and PCIe type drives, so we have to check that in our motherboard’s manual before purchase. The A55 is designed to work on the SATA bus what usually means that most M.2 sockets, both PCIe and SATA type, will be compatible. Of course, there are exceptions as some new motherboards have only PCIe sockets.

The drive is not much different than any other M.2 SSD. A large label with a manufacturer’s logo covers all the chips. We can also see a Silicon Motion controller, while everything else doesn’t have a clear description. The most important is how the drive works, not what is under the sticker.

To check the performance of the A55 SSD, let’s move to the next page of this review.
