The SSD arrived in perfect condition with 0 hours and 0 GB written on the counter.
The SSD showed thermal throttling during extended load, but it didn’t affect the performance in most tests. A typical temperature (internal) during load is about 60°C. It’s lower than a typical throttling point for SSDs, around 75°C, but it’s hard to say how the SSD is programmed and what temperature it is reading. The DS72 has a lower temperature, and its performance is less affected by thermal throttling than the TEAMGROUP X1 MAX reviewed some weeks ago. As a result, the DS72 is faster and easier to hold just after work.
So far, so good. Now, let’s take a look at the product itself.
