Silicon Power PC60 960GB USB 3.2 Portable SSD Review

Performance

Performance has been tested on the latest Intel Comet Lake-S platform, which contains the i9-10900K processor and ASRock Z490 PG Velocita motherboard. All tests were performed in the Windows 10 x64 environment.

ATTO Disk Benchmark is going to be our first test.

At least on the new ASRock motherboard, we couldn’t reach maximum declared bandwidth. It always depends on other factors, but our results are not so bad either. In the ATTO benchmark, we could reach around 475MB/s read and 500MB/s write. Usually, it’s the other way, so read bandwidth is higher.

Results in CrystalDiskMark are better, but the same, write bandwidth is higher. In this test, we could achieve up to 525MB/s write and 500MB/s read.

PCMark benchmarks are more demanding, so results are never high on USB SSD. Our bandwidth is still quite high in the mixed workload provided by the benchmark. The drive handles long work without significant drops in performance what is also essential.

Anvil’s Storage Utilities is also showing some high numbers but lower than in previous synthetic bandwidth benchmarks. This benchmark is more for the reference as it’s older and not.

The PC60 is not the fastest Silicon Power portable SSD. Still, the results are respectable, and the drive is for sure worth considering is we are thinking about fast and spacious storage, which we can put into the pocket and take with us anywhere.
