One quick look at the CrystalDiskInfo to check SMART and the overall condition of our drive. Everything is perfect. The drive is already after a couple of tests that you can see in the program’s window.

The temperature is typical for an HDD, anything between 30-50°C, depends on the drive usage.

Package and its Contents

The S07 arrived in a retail box which contains a USB cable, power supply, and an HDD. Not much, but it’s so easy to connect that nothing else is required.

The drive can be connected to any device which has a USB port. It’s convenient if we wish to connect a large base of photos or videos to the smart TV. NAS would be a better option, but it wouldn’t be so mobile and would cost more.

In the specification, we won’t find a maximum bandwidth, but looking at our test results, we can expect something up to around 200MB/s. If the device doesn’t support USB 3.2, then it will still work at older standards down to USB 2.0.

Inside the enclosure, we will find 5400 RPM HDD drive, which is pretty much the only option on the market which offers 6TB or above capacity. There are some new SSD that have up to 4TB, but their price is significantly higher than the HDD, and their speed is not really crucial for media streaming on single devices.

The S07 is designed to look like a cracked stone. It actually looks interesting, but the effect highly depends on the angle and light. Sometimes it looks like a stone, sometimes just like black plastic. It’s still quite a unique design and should look good on the desk.

“The crack” has some holes for airflow and a blue activity LED. Even though holes are not large, then the drive keeps average for HDD temperatures.

Let’s move to the next page and some performance tests.
