TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB SSD 500GB Review

Today, we’ll be taking a quick look at the TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB 500GB SATA SSD. It uses 3D TLC NAND flash memory chips and is powered by Silicon Motion SM2258 controller, offering read/write speeds of up to 560 MB/s. Our review sample has a total capacity of 500GB, and comes in a 2.5-inch form factor with a total thickness of only 9.5mm. The SSD also has one of the largest luminous RGB surface area with the ratio of 5:3, offering a total of 16.8 million colors.

Over the past few years, many motherboard manufacturers have included the support for M.2 SSDs. This makes sense as technology advances, plus the fact that the latest generation of NVMe SSDs offer huge performance gains over your standard SATA SSDs. So it’s no wonder that many users are ditching the traditional 2.5″ SSD as their main boot drive, in favor of the M.2’s size and performance.

However have said that, there is still a market for 2.5″ SSDs … mainly for content creators who require large storage capacity (single drive or NAS), and of course for modders that require additional features such as RGB … and this is where TeamGroup comes in with their T-Force Delta RGB SSD.

Confused and NAND flash memory? Well, there are several types of NAND flash memory used in most of today’s SSDs. The two most popular are SLC and MLC, and now TLC. Here’s a little background taken from HowToGeek.

T-FORCE

T-FORCE is TEAM force. The red “T” on the logo of “TF” represents TEAMGROUP’s passion for the storage products. The black “F” represents TEAMGROUP’s over 18 years of promotion of storage products. The visual design of the perfect combination elegantly symbolizes a pair of flying wings. They represent that the high quality and extreme performance gaming products from TEAMGROUP are capable of allowing all gamers to break the speed limit and enjoy the ever-changing world of gaming.

With a capacity of 500GB, it should be more than enough for most users, be it a boot drive or just your regular drive for storage. One thing I really like about this SSD is that, if you’re not a fan of RGB, then you don’t have switch it on. Just don’t connect the 5v ARGB USB cable. Another bonus is the peace of mind of a 3 year warranty.

I’m expecting the T-Force Delta RGB SSD to perform fairly well in all of our benchmark tests. We’ll be using our test rig which is comprised of an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming X motherboartd, GEIL Super Luce RGB DDR4-3000MHz 16Gb Kit and a Radeon RX 590 graphics card. Let’s not waste any more time and continue and check out the specifications on the page.

You can buy the TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB SSD 500GB for around USD $89.99 at Amazon – https://amzn.to/2W9W1Wc
