GIGABYTE GeForce® GTX 1060 Xtreme Gaming 6G Graphics Card Review

Packaging & Contents

What you will receive in the package with the GTX 1060 Xtreme Gaming 6G.

GIGABYTE has continually improved on their packaging aesthetics and the situation is no different here with bright contrastive colors, detailed images and a wealth of information printed on all sides of the retail package. Upon opening the packaging, we find a wide thin cardboard insert that contains the accessories which include a sweet case badge, GIGABYTE branded wrist band, and a vinyl portfolio style sleeve containing the product and warranty documentation. All very nice touches here and GIGABYTE makes sure that you can feel the elegant quality right out of the box! The graphics card itself is protected by a thick foam mold insert and an anti-static bag.

A Closer Look

Up close and personal with the GTX 1060 Xtreme Gaming 6G.

The first thing that really catches my eye is the size of the graphics card’s cooling assembly. The two cooling fans have a unique fan blade design and the shroud definitely has a personality as well. For the connectivity ports we find three display ports, a single external HDMI port, two internal HDMI ports as well as a DVI port. This card is a beast!

The graphics card also features a large heat sink with heat pipes to help with the transfer of heat. The GIGABYTE GeForce® GTX 1060 Xtreme Gaming 6G graphics card also features a solid back plate to protect the PCB and to also give the backside of the graphics card a clean stylized look. GIGABYTE was even kind enough to include dust protectors for any unused display ports.

Overall, the GIGABYTE GeForce® GTX 1060 Xtreme Gaming 6G graphics card is a visual treat and the design is so much better than the reference from NVIDIA and as a bonus you get the customizable RGB lighting as well!

Now let us move on to the performance results of the GTX 1060 Xtreme Gaming 6G graphics card!
