HIS Radeon RX460 Slim-iCooler OC 2GB Graphics Card Review

Test Setup and Overclocking

For tests has been used Intel platform which contains i7 7700K processor and ASUS Maximus IX Apex motherboard with the latest BIOS. Tests were performed in Windows 10 Pro x64.

On our review sample we could set maximum frequency of 1350MHz for core and 2000MHz for memory. It’s a nice result considering that HIS RX460 Slim iCooler is not really designed for high overclocking. Memory frequency was limited to 2000MHz by software ( locked in BIOS ) but I think it can make some more. This is actually AMD specification so probably other RX460 will have the same maximum frequency ( without BIOS editing what may void warranty ).

Above settings were causing fan to spin faster – up to 2500 RPM, but not at its maximum speed which is about 3000 RPM. Under load we could see maximum temperature of about 80°C what is about 10°C more than maximum temperature without overclocking. Even though it seems high we have to remember that till about 60°C fan is not spinning at all and temperature at which card will throttle is above 90°C.

During work, HIS RX460 Slim iCooler is really quiet and even at full load it’s not generating much noise.

Wow the first HIS Graphics card that doesn’t look bad! Good job on this one.
