Today we will be taking a quick look at the MSI GeForce RTX 2060 VENTUS 6G OC graphics card. The Geforce RTX 2060 is Nvidia’s latest addition … and their entry point to the RTX 20 series of graphics card, and features the much talked about Turning architecture that allows ray-tracing capabilities.

This is one of the first custom GeForce RTX 2060 on the market, and is overclocked from the default base clock speed of 1365 MHz (boost 1680 MHz) to an impressive 1710 MHz, and features 6GB of GDDR6 ram with a memory speed of up to 14 Gbps. It’s has a memory bus of on a 192-bit, thus giving you a total bandwidth of 336 Gb/s.
If you bought a GeForce GTX 1060 two years ago (which by the way, is still one of the best value gaming card out there), but want to upgrade … then the RTX 2060 could the graphics card you want.
What is RTX all about?
Well, Nvidia have included Ray-Tracing capabilities in their new Turing GPU, giving you lifelike lighting, reflections, and shadows, offering a level of realism far beyond what’s possible using traditional rendering techniques.
Ray-Tracing is nothing new, in fact it’s been around a lot longer than you can imagine. The very first real-time ray-tracing was presented by Arthur Appel in 1968. It became more widely known during the 1980’s but it required huge processing power that only a few mainframe computers and a handful of workstations could offer.
Now almost forty years later, Nvidia is bringing real-time Ray-Tracing to the masses with their Turing GPUs, and you’ll find them on their GeForce RTX series of graphic cards.

Last month, we reviewed the Zotac Geforce RTX 2070 OC Mini, which we thought was extremely good, with performance easily beating that of the GTX 1080 in most cases. As of now, Nvidia’s RTX 20 series seem to be really offering better performance, over the older GTX 10 series. There’s already reports that the RTX 2060 can easily outperform the GTX 1070. So is this really true? Well let’s find out.
I’m expecting the MSI GeForce RTX 2060 VENTUS OC to produce some very good scores in all of our benchmark tests. It should of course easily beat the GTX 1060, but I wonder how it will compare against the GTX 1070, and its bigger sibling the RTX 2070.
