XFX Radeon RX 5600 XT THICC III Ultra Graphics Card Review

A Closer look at the RX5600 XT THICC III Ultra

Even though the RX5600 XT THICC III Ultra doesn’t have any additional LED lighting, it looks fantastic. RGB lighting became popular, but many users dislike everything with RGB lighting. On the other hand, gamers don’t need LED lighting to enjoy their favorite titles.

On the front side of the card is a black shroud and fans with the XFX logo on the copper background. The backplate includes a large XFX sign, which looks exceptional.

The back of the card is covered by aluminum backplate, which protects the card and at the same time, helps in heat exchange, so in short, causes lower temperature.  The back of the card is also a whole black the same as the front. The XFX logo is glossy while the rest is matte, so it gives an interesting effect.

The card itself is two-slot thick, so it’s not so bad as we’ve seen thicker cooling. It’s also really long, so we have to be sure that in the case there is enough space for the 33cm card.

The large cooler is equipped with four 6mm heat-pipes, which are covering the whole GPU and are the top option nowadays. There are also copper heatsinks for the GPU and memory chips. Pretty much the best we can get for the RX5600 XT graphics card.

The RX5600 XT THICC III is equipped with three fans. Two are 92mm, and one is 100mm. All are really quiet to the point that if we don’t play games, they won’t spin at all. The maximum noise measured on open test rig from 1m was 30dB. It’s about the best result we’ve seen on a gaming graphics card. Simply amazing. We could wonder why XFX installed such a large cooler on the RX5600 XT, but now we know. I also have to add that the card runs so quiet and without notable “coil whine” that it is hard to say if mentioned 30dB is only because of the card and not anything else from the test rig.

On the card, there is also a low power BIOS switch, which you can see in the pictures above. It can be handy for those who don’t need a full card’s power and wish to reduce the heat.

On the above pictures, you can see how long the card is. Again, be sure there is enough space in the PC case to install the RX5600 XT THICC III Ultra graphics card.

The card requires a minimum of 450W PSU. Recommended is a good-quality 500W PSU like one of the XFX series.
