ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER AMP Extreme Graphics Card Review

A Closer Look

The card is fairly large, measuring 324mm x 136mm x 459mm (LxHxW), and uses up 2 and 1/2 PCI slot space. It’s the exact dimensions of the original ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 2080 AMP Extreme Core (8GB GDDR6)

The card comes with Spectra Lighting, ICESTORM 2.0, Freeze/Active fan control, wraparound protection, Power Boost with 16+4 power phases, and of course the support for SLI using the NVLink connector.

ICE STORM 2.0 cooling solution features a large wraparound solid metal backplate which gives the card extra support, and helps with heat dissipation. The large heatsink with heatpipes as well as the 3 large fans provide superb cooling, and can be controlled via the Firestorm software.

This card uses the same stock speeds as Nvidia’s orginal RTX 2060 Super, and doesn’t come overclocked this card like their AMP and AMP extreme editions.

You’ll need 2 x 8-pin PCIE power connector for this card, and we recommend a minimum power supply of 650W or higher. For connectivity, you’ll get 3 x Displayport and 1 x HDMI , but no USB-C.

For SLI multi-GPU configuration, the minimum requirement according to Nvidia is a pair of GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER or higher, so no problems here. You want to SLI two these cards … be may guest 😛

Installation

No issues with installation, but the card is very large taking up 2.5 PCI slot space … you’ll definitely need to check to see if your case can support it.
