ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 2080 Ti AMP Extreme (11GB GDDR6) Review

Today, we’ll be taking a quick look at the ZOTAC’s flagship graphics card … the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 2080 Ti AMP Extreme (11GB GDDR6). This is probably one of the fastest consumer-grade graphics card one the market, designed and aimed at the extreme gaming enthusiast.

This graphics card is powered by Nvidia’s latest GPU – the Geforce RTX 2080 Ti featuring Turing architecture and offers ray-tracing capabilities, artificial intelligence, and programmable shading.

The factory overclocked GPU has a boost speed of 1815 MHz (default is 1545 MHz), and comes with 4352 CUDA cores that delivers performance of 10 Giga Rays/s. It also comes with 11GB of GDDR6 ram on a 352-bit bus, with a memory clock speed of 14 Gbps producing a total memory bandwidth of up to 616 Gb/s.

 

 

The card also comes with all of Zotac’s usual enthusiast features such as ICE STORM 2.0 cooling, Power Boost, SPECTRA 2.0 Lighting System, OC Scanner, and FireStorm Utility for overclocking. 

 

What is RTX all about?

Well, Nvidia have included Ray-Tracing capabilities in their new Turing GPU, giving you lifelike lighting, reflections, and shadows, offering a level of realism far beyond what’s possible using traditional rendering techniques.

Ray-Tracing is nothing new, in fact it’s been around a lot longer than you can imagine. The very first real-time ray-tracing was presented by Arthur Appel in 1968. It became more widely known during the 1980’s but it required huge processing power that only a few mainframe computers and a handful of workstations could offer.

Now almost forty years later, Nvidia is bringing real-time Ray-Tracing to the masses with their Turing GPUs, and you’ll find them on their GeForce RTX series of graphic cards.
