Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Graphics Card Review

Cyberpunk 2077 Benchmark (4K – Ray Tracing: OverDrive)

CD PROJEKT RED released an update (v1.5) for Cyberpunk 2077 which includes their Ray Tracing: Overdrive option with RTX on and DLSS3 enabled. It’s incredibly demanding on your hardware.

Verdict and Conclusion

For all you maintream gamers out there … it’s time to rejoice. Nvidia have finally listened to the gamers (for once) and produced a graphics card that offers decent performance at an extremely attractive price. The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti features Nvidia’s ADA Lovelace architecture with 4,352 CUDA cores, and comes with all the latest technologies such as DLSS3, 3rd Gen Ray Tracing, 4th Gen Tensore cores, Nvidia’s Reflex technology and more.

Just a little reminder, there are two version of the RTX 4060 series. Nvidia release both the RTX 4060 Ti and the RTX 4060. The card we reviewed was the Zotac Gaming Geforce RTX 4060 Ti, which of course is the faster (and has more CUA cores) than the RTX 4060.

During our tests, we got excellent scores in all of our benchmarks, including a decent score of 13,212 for Basemark GPU, and a Geekbench GPU score of 134,442. For Unigine’s Valley benchmark, we got a score of 5,543, and a Final Fantasy benchmark score of 13,088.

For Superposition 1080p extreme and optimized 4K, we got decent scores of 7,623 and 9,641 respectively. For 3DMark Timespy and Firestrike, it produced a score of 13,886 and 30,326 respectively. And finally, for Speedway and Port Royal, it produce a score of 3,140 and 7,919 respectively. And lastly, we got a DirectX Raytracing score of 38.01 fps and a Passmark 10 GPU score of 28,835.

We also included the Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark using the Ray Tracing: Overdrive option. It’s incredibly demanding on your hardware, but the Zotac Gaming Geforce RTX 4060 Ti give us a nice score of 20.19 frames per second, which to my surprise actually beat the Radeon RX 7900 XTX. Mind you, I think this game/benchmark is skewed more towards Nvidia’s way with its Ray Tracing and DLSS features.

What I like about the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is that it only requires 1 x 8-pin PCIE power cable. It’s also always to good to have less cables 😛  What’s even better, is that the card only consumes around 160-165W of power, which is amazingly low. During our full oad tests, it was actually using only around 137.6W of power, which I think is amazing. With such a low power consuming card, you only need a power supply of around 550W (as recommended by Nvidia), but we do think a 600-750W PSU would be better, just to be safe.

For cooling the card uses Zotac’s Freeze Tech and IceStorm Cooling system featuring a large heatsink with 2 visible heatpipes, and dual cooling fans. During our full load tests, the GPU reached a high of only 69 degrees Celsius, with the GPU hotspot hitting a high of 86 degrees Celsius. A card that consumes less power card equals lower temperatures.

And finally, the card comes with Zotac’s Spectra RGB lighting, and this lights up the Zotac Logo, which is located on the top side of the graphics card. You can control the settings using the FireStorm software which you can download from Zotac’s website.

The overall size of the card is fairly compact, measuring just 225.5 mm in length and uses only 2 PCI slot space, which is great news system builders and should be compatible in most, if not all cases.

With such an attractive and affordable pricing, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is definitely the right graphics card to go for if you’re planning spend around USD $400-500 to upgrade from the older RTX 20 or RTX 30 series. For gamers with a lower budget, you can always opt to go for the cheaper RTX 4060 (with less CUDA cores) instead.

No MSRP on the Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (8GB) just yet … but expect to pay around USD $399-$450.

You can now buy the Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card for around USD $370 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/48Jzkv8

Final Thoughts

In terms of performance and features, the Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (8GB) is a decent and respectable gaming card that’s worth every penny. It features Nvidia’s industry leading ADA Lovelace architecture, and offers all the latest graphics technologies such as DLSS3, 3rd Gen Ray tracing, 4th Gen Tensore cores, Reflex, and more. You get all of this at an amazingly affordable price.
