TP-Link AC1900 Touch Screen Wi-Fi Router Review

Performance and Closer Look

Let’s take a look at the available options. Photos are not showing actual quality of the display as it’s hard to make it. You have to believe me that the display looks much better and I mean it looks really good considering it’s “only” a router display. On the other hand how many other routers with touch screen have you seen ? It’s a nice feature which at least for some users will be really handy.

Loading screen … and we can see all available options.

Quick setup is also really nice. As I mentioned it let to configure everything easily and quickly ( just remember about network protection like a good password ).

The TP-Link AC1900 has dual core processor which is clearly helping to achieve high performance.

Our test results are based on CrystalDiskMark 5.2.1 x64 benchmark. Configuration is quite simple. Bandwidth has been measured on an ASUS GL552VW laptop ( Intel WiFi and LAN cards ) with mapped network drive. Network drive was installed on a computer with Server 2016 which was using LAN connection.

First test is showing bandwidth on 2.4GHz wireless connection. We can see that results are pretty good. On every test file results are quite repetable. Depends on run we can see +/- 2MB/s in sequential bandwidth. Of course this bandwidth also depends on hard disks speed.

5GHz wireless connection is much faster. Results are also good and repetable. The same as on 2.4GHz connection, also here 4GiB test is showing a bit better results.

At the end LAN connection test using 1Gbit port. Results are as good as they supposed to be. Simply high performance and stable connection which is often more important than the highest bandwidth result. Actually when most users are complaining that they have problems with Internet speed then it’s related to the connection stability and not maximum bandwidth. Of course there are exceptions and there are many things that may affect performance. TP-Link AC1900 is providing stable connection and the same experience we have had with previously reviewed AC3200 router.
