Yesterday FunkyKit attended the Xiaomi Hong Kong 2016 Summer Product Launch held at the Cordis Hotel in Mongkok, Kowloon. Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra hosted the event, to present Xiaomi’s wares that will be releasing in Hong Kong this summer.
With many local press attending, all eager to see what Xiaomi will officially release in Hong Kong (even though we can get all sorts of Xiaomi goodies here, they are from nonofficial resellers), Hugo was in full swing presenting his company’s new releases for several hours.
MIUI 8
First up was Xiaomi’s latest operating system for their own range of smartphones, MIUI 8. Being an Android based OS, Hugo went over all the new features of MIUI 8, such as long photos and quick sharing.
MIUI 8 public beta starts on 11 July, with the official stable release on 16 August.
Mi Max Smartphone
Don’t you just love the big, sharp screens we now get on our smartphones? Hugo certain does, as he gave a lively presentation on the Mi Max. Boasting a 4850mAh battery, the Mi Max is packed full of new features.
The Mi Max will be released in Hong Kong at noon 14 July, with a highly competitive HK$1799 price tag!
Mi Air Purifier 2
I was a bit miffed when Xiaomi withheld releasing the original Mi Air Purifier in Hong Kong, so I’m highly anticipating the release of the Mi Air Purifier 2!
With a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) of 400 cubic meters of air per hour, the Mi Air Purifier 2 is capable of filtering a room as large as 48 square meters! And its only HK$999…..where do I put my name down for one?!
