Apple Park – Apple Campus 2 Opening In April

Apple’s new campus has received an official name and a general grand opening date. The location will be known as Apple Park and employees are going to begin moving to the campus in April. It’ll take over six months to fill Apple Park with the 12,000 employees who are moving to it.

Final construction and landscaping efforts are going to continue into the summer, but Apple Park will be operational in just a couple months.

The campus’ theater is named “Steve Jobs Theater” in honor of the company’s late CEO. It’s going to open later in 2017.

Apple says the setup is very energy-efficient and Apple Park will run entirely on renewable energy.

Steve’s vision for Apple stretched far beyond his time with us. He intended Apple Park to be the home of innovation for generations to come. The workspaces and parklands are designed to inspire our team as well as benefit the environment. We’ve achieved the most energy-efficient building of its kind in the world and the campus will run entirely on renewable energy.– Tim Cook, CEO, Apple

Work on the campus began in 2013.
