Gigabyte Aorus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition (11GB GDDR5X) Review

Thanks to Gigabyte and local HK distributor Synnex, we will be taking a look at the Gigabyte Aorus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition 11G. This is Gigabyte’s highest performing graphics card in their catalog, and features Nvidia’s latest GTX 1080 Ti GPU that’s been pre-overclocked. It now boasts a base clock speed of 1632 MHz and boost speed of 1746 MHz. It’s the higest clock speed I’ve seen for a Geforce GTX 1080 Ti. To give you an idea of the how far Gigabyte have overclocked this baby, here the reference speed taken from Nvidia’s website – Base clock: 1480 MHz, boost: 1582 MHz.

When I say this graphics card is FAST, I mean really mean it …

Gigabyte have added some nice features to this card, which really makes it stand out from the rest. Such as the Copper Base Plate (which forms part of the PCB backplate), Windforce Stack cooling with 3X 100mm fans that spin alternately, Angular Fin Design and Composite Heatpipe.

As with all GeForce GTX 1080 Ti’s, you’ll find 11GB of GDDR5X ram, along with a memory bus of 352-bit and bandwidth of upto 11Gbps. And yes, this card does requires a minimum recommended power supply of 600W.

Here’s a quick comparison of the GeForce GTX 10 series from Nvidia (default reference clock speeds)…
