Occube – Next Generation 360° GoPro® Mount
What we love about this crowdfunding project is how deep pockets one must have to use the Occube. Even if the Occube was released at very low costs, the fact of having to attach 6 GoPro action cameras to it will set you back a fair bit.
Working in the professional video industry and being big fans of 360° recording we have experienced numerous situations in which we had to make a lot of compromises working with the current 360° technology on the market. Due to quality limitations of “one-stop” cameras currently on the markets we are focused on working with GoPro® action cameras, the respective camera rigs as well as the required stitching software. During operations we have experienced pitfalls that did not enable us to work professionaly:
- Cameras turn off due to overheating
- Limited recording time due to short battery duration
- Time Waste due to one-after-the-other data extraction
That is the reason why we decided to create
We’re not quite sure where in the market the Occube really sits; on hand the creators wanted a professional solution to 360°, yet it has opted for the design to work with GoPro cameras, not exactly high end.
