CES 2013: CoolerMaster Cases, Coolers & Accessories

Air Cooling

If water cooling isn’t your thing, that’s ok, CoolerMaster still has you covered. They’re delving into the realm of Heat Chambers (some call them Vapor Chambers, same thing) for their next generation of coolers. This is something we haven’t seen on CPU coolers before, GPU coolers have used them to go effect for a couple years now. Think really, really big heatpipe and you have the general idea. They make wonderful heatspreaders too. Here’s what CoolerMaster has for us:

See the bottom there? The Heat Chamber takes the place of the normal copper block and the heatpipes attach to it instead. In theory this greatly increases the efficiency in getting the heat from the CPU die to the heatpipes. This is CoolerMaster’s new V8 GTS cooler, as a sidenote.

Here’s another angle. Now this isn’t the only thing CoolerMaster is doing with Heat Chambers, they’re using them to get more heat up to the fins too!

Check this out. See that piece on top? That’s the heat chamber. It increases the amount of heat headed into the fins hugely.

Here’s another angle of the cooler. Not big enough? How about this?

I don’t know the name of this beast, it was installed in a tower and lacked a plaque.
