AGON by AOC Expands Affordable AOC Gaming G4/G42 Series with High Refresh Rate Models

AGON by AOC – the world’s leading gaming monitor brand – once more pushes the boundaries of affordable competitive gaming with three new QHD monitors that deliver esports-level refresh rates without the premium price tag. Leading the charge is the groundbreaking AOC GAMING Q25G4SR that achieves an incredible 300 Hz refresh rate in a compact 24.5-inch (62.2 cm) form factor, joined by the 27-inch (68.6 cm) feature-rich Q27G4ZR and the value-focussed Q27G42ZE models, which both deliver a 240 Hz performance with overclocking headroom to 260 Hz.

Compact powerhouse with exceptional clarity and speed
The Q25G4SR stands out as a rare offering in the gaming monitor market, delivering a QHD (2560×1440) resolution in the compact 24.5-inch division. With an impressive pixel density of 119.89 PPI, it is the spiritual successor of the beloved AOC GAMING Q24G2A from the G2 series, providing gamers with a combination of high resolution and compact size that many enthusiasts have been waiting for.

This monitor delivers a remarkable 300 Hz refresh rate with its Fast IPS panel, ensuring ultra-smooth gameplay with response times up to 1 ms GtG and 0.3 ms MPRT using Motion Blur Reduction (MBR). The monitor doesn’t compromise on premium features either, with VESA certified DisplayHDR 400 support bringing games to life with vibrant highlights and rich contrast, while the fully ergonomic stand adapts to any gaming setup with 130 mm height adjustment and tilt, swivel, and pivot functionality. Dual HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 ensure this monitor is ready for both the latest graphics cards and next-generation consoles without bandwidth limitations.

Versatile 27-inch options for different budgets
The Q27G4ZR represents the best choice in the 27-inch category, featuring a 240 Hz refresh rate with overclocking capability to 260 Hz. This model also includes comprehensive connectivity with 2x HDMI 2.0 ports and 1x DisplayPort 1.4, built-in 2 W stereo speakers, and a fully ergonomic stand offering the same functionality as its 24.5-inch sibling. DisplayHDR 400 support with 400 cd/m² peak brightness ensures vibrant visuals across gaming content and allows a comfortable usage in bright environments. The Q27G4ZR offers the same rapid response times up to 1 ms GtG and 0.3 ms MPRT with Motion Blur Reduction, ensuring every frame is crisp and responsive.

For budget-conscious gamers, the Q27G42ZE offers the same core performance as the Q27G4ZR, with a 240 Hz refresh rate (overclockable to 260 Hz) and almost identical Fast IPS panel specifications, but with streamlined features including a tilt-only stand, simplified connectivity with one HDMI 2.0 and one DisplayPort 1.4, and 300 cd/m² brightness. If on-board sound and HDR support is not a top priority, the Q27G42ZE delivers on all fronts at a bargain.

“These monitors represent exactly what our AOC GAMING community has been asking for,” says César Acosta, Gaming Product Manager at AGON by AOC. “The Q25G4SR delivers that rare combination of compact size and ultra-high refresh rates that enthusiasts love, while our 27-inch options give gamers the flexibility to choose the features that matter most to them. All three prove that you don’t need to spend premium prices to get esports-level performance.”

Engineered for the modern gamer
Every monitor in the range features AOC’s comprehensive gaming toolkit: Shadow Control reveals enemies lurking in the dark, Game Color fine-tunes saturation for optimum visibility, and the Dial Point crosshair overlay, helps gamers aim accurately. Low Input Lag mode ensures gamers’ commands translate instantly to on-screen action, while the Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) setting creates an almost CRT-like clarity that competitive players crave.

These Fast IPS panels deliver consistent performance across wide viewing angles with exceptional colour accuracy – the Q25G4SR and Q27G4ZR cover over 114% sRGB area while the Q27G42ZE pushes even further with 123.6% sRGB area. All three monitors support current-generation console gaming at QHD resolution, making them perfect for both PC and console enthusiasts.

The monitors feature AOC’s G-Menu software for easy customisation of display settings and gaming profiles, along with the signature G4 series design language featuring 3-sided frameless bezels with matte black finish and subtle red accents. With a low-profile, esports-inspired base, the monitors accommodate different keyboard and mouse positioning preferences while maintaining a clean desk setup through integrated cable management and VESA mount (100×100) capability.
