We are going to cover a Router from ASUS TUF Gaming today! These are always fun even though I rarely get to review a router. That just means I get to witness a huge improvement in performance compared to the last gen technology. What can a good router do for you? If you have a good internet provider, then the possibilities of you missing out on transfer speeds are a definite possibility. Or if you have a larger house, you can see diminished results the farther away from the router you get. These problems can absolutely ruin an otherwise fun activity. Thats why I recommend getting a strong router with a nice feature set in the backend. Hopefully we get all this and more with the ASUS TUF Gaming AX5400!
If you are new to networking or don’t fully understand the vocabulary of all the features. Don’t worry we will lay everything out on the table and explain what to look for in a capable router. Most importantly if you don’t want to get too deep just make sure it has guest networks that are capable of station separation. This basically keeps those devices from seeing your main network (SSID). A must have feature with IOT devices now days. I am not going to tell you it must have WiFi 6 because I still have hardware that isn’t even going to be able to utilize those speeds but it’s nice to have down the road. So, let’s recap really quick. Must have guest network, or even a couple capable of protecting main network devices. The newest technology ensures future device will work down the road. Decent range or even the possibilities of a mesh system. You can ensure full coverage with this type of setup. Lastly, updates and support from the manufacturer. There is always going to vulnerabilities that will need addressed when it comes to routers. Oh, I almost forgot, and make it super easy to set up for first time users!
