Beyerdynamic Launches the DT 990 PRO X Headphones

The preferred brand of musicians and audio professionals, presents the DT 990 PRO X: the latest evolution of the legendary DT 990 PRO headphones, launching with a detachable cable, a wide range of interchangeable parts, enhanced flexibility thanks to low impedance, and the powerful STELLAR.45 driver.

The studio classic from beyerdynamic – reinterpreted
Since the 1980s, the DT 990 PRO has been an indispensable part of many studios. These headphones stand for detailed sound, optimal comfort, and durable design at an affordable price. Over the decades, renowned musicians and producers have discovered and remained loyal to the DT 990 PRO, including Flume, Martin Garrix, and Metro Boomin.

Handcrafted in Germany, the DT 990 PRO X builds on the sound signature of the DT 990 PRO and takes it to a new level. Designed for critical listening and editing, this new addition, with its large soundstage, proves to be a perfect complement to studio monitors. It offers the precision and clarity studio professionals need to identify even the finest sonic details and flaws in their mix.

“Most home producers have studio monitors they use to check their mixes,” says Product Manager Kevin Nietsch. “With the DT 990 PRO X, we give you a precise tool—an acoustic magnifying glass that lets you peer deep into any mix—an ideal complement to existing studio monitors.”

Designed for professionals. Robust and durable.
Designed with today’s studio workflows in mind, the DT 990 PRO X features a 48-ohm impedance, allowing it to be seamlessly used with a wide range of playback devices—from professional audio interfaces to portable setups. The detachable 3-meter mini-XLR to 3.5 mm cable, including a 6.35 mm adapter, offers maximum connectivity in virtually any environment.

The heart of the headphones is the STELLAR.45 driver from beyerdynamic, developed in Germany, which offers outstanding dynamics, low distortion and impressive detail with a frequency range of 5 – 40,000 Hz.

In addition to ultra-soft velour ear cushions, the headphones feature an ergonomically padded headband with an integrated fontanelle cutout, which increases long-term comfort. Many of the components of the DT 990 PRO X are replaceable, ensuring that the headphones remain an essential part of your personal studio setup for many years to come.

“The release of the DT 770 PRO X and DT 990 PRO X marks a new chapter for beyerdynamic—one in which we adapt even more closely to the demands of the ever-evolving world of music production,” Nietsch continued. “We are proud to support the next generation of studio professionals and music creators by continuing to bring products to market tailored to their needs.”
