CVW
CVW (Shenzhen Crystal Video Technology Co. Ltd.) specializes in R&D, production and marketing of high frequency wireless video transmission modules. At the HKEF 2016, CVW was showcasing their latest product, the Orion, a range of outdoor HD wireless live video transmission and receiver modules.
What really caught our eye was CVW’s CP7010 wireless AV transmitter. The CP7010 is designed to attach itself securely to the back of a GoPro waterproof casing. By removing the back cover of the waterproof casing the CP7010 clamps in, forming a water-tight seal.
The CP7010has range of 500 to 1000m and transmit video using H.264 image compression at 1080p at 60Hz. With a waterproof rating of IP55, the CP7010 can withstand direct sprays of water. The internal rechargeable battery has a continuous running time of 45 minutes, and the entire transmitter weighs in at only 226 grammes (that’s without the GoPro).

Winston’s comments – This year’s HKEF 2016 wasn’t too bad. There was a lot of IoT devices, crowd-funded/Kickstarter projects and smart wearables. VR was a big thing this year and we’ll be seeing a lot more in the coming months. I just wished they had more PC and computer components. All-in-all, it was very good for us and the video production team … a kind of trial run before Computex 😉
