The build quality is of the Himbox is actually quite decent. The only weak point would be the thin wires. As long as the Himbox is not constantly moved from one vehicle to another frequently I do not see the wires coming apart or splitting apart from the ends of the plugs. The small wire size does make the device easy to conceal and look seamless when installing in a vehicle. The call quality was right on par with everything else out there. Nothing mind blowing, but it performed as well as any other Bluetooth device I have personally used.
The magnetic base the unit mounts to has an adhesive back that will stick to many different surface types. The adhesive back reminded me of a command strip and has a little cushion to allow various surface textures. The magnet used to hold the device is a seriously strong hold. Once the Himbox is mounted where you want, it will not slide or bounce around. The secure mounting reduces vibrations and in turn keeps distortion out of the device further increasing the quality of phone calls.
