Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 & NF-A14x25r G2 Fans Review

What’s in the box?

The NF-A14x25r G2 fans arrived in a similar box to the non-r version. It’s also well-described, but of course, presents a different type of fan. On the other hand, when we take a closer look at the specifications, the main difference is in its shape and the purpose of installation. The “r” version is especially designed for CPU coolers, such as the NH-D15 series. The NH-D15 G2 already has those fans, but if we have an older version, then we can upgrade it with the new type of fans.
The NF-A14x25r can also be used on PC cases or other cooling devices; however, we have to remember it has different mounting holes, and it won’t fit everything like the square-shaped fans.

The accessories box has fewer items than in the non-R version, but it’s still more than enough for most users:

  • NA-RC16 Low-Noise Adaptor (L.N.A.)
  • NA-YC1 4-pin PWM splitter cable
  • NA-EC1 30cm extension cable
  • 4x NA-AV2 anti-vibration mounts
  • Fan screws

We have used the NF-A14x25r fans as an upgrade for Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3 coolers, including a push-pull configuration—installation with dual fans per cooler. Because of the fan design, we can see an improved performance, while the generated noise from multiple fans isn’t audible.
