Kingston MobileLite Wireless Pro 64GB Review

Performance

Measuring performance is a bit complicated as the only way to check bandwidth using popular benchmarks is to map network drive. Still not all applications see MobileLite Pro as local drive and won’t let it to be tested. However I was able to perform tests in CrystalDiskMark which is one of the most popular storage benchmarks.

Tests were performed using MobileLite Pro connected to ASUS GL552VW laptop based on 6th generation Intel processor ( i5 6300HQ ). For tests I’ve also used 32GB SDXC card which is capable of bandwidth up to 90MB/s.

After quick configuration and mapping network drives you should see something similar to what is on the below screenshot.

Drive Y: is 32GB SDXC card installed in MobileLite Pro while Z: is 64GB integrated storage.

Let’s begin with results made on SDXC card.

As we see results are not really high and are clearly limited by network speed. On the other hand it’s more than enough to communicate with any mobile devices like tablets or smartphones where you won’t see much higher bandwidth.

Now the same tests but performed on integrated storage.

Results are about the same in both cases so network speed is clearly limiting storage bandwidth. In copy tests which are usually buffered results were slightly better but not much.

As I mentioned we could expect better results but for a mobile – wireless device, it’s still not bad.

Additionally I was performing couple of battery life tests. I could recharge my Lumia 550 smartphone twice what is pretty good result considering all other features included. MobileLite Pro could also work for about 11-12 hours as Kingston declared. That I was testing twice after full recharge.

In general MobileLite Pro is working as it’s specified. It’s not easy to configure for a first time on a PC but easy to use application for IOS or Android makes it perfect all-in-one device for anyone who is often using tablets or smartphones.
